Motors
Electric motors are considered the workhorse in many industrial applications. Motors often operate for extended periods and consume significant amounts of energy in the process.
But not all motors operate with the same efficiency. When installing new motors, consider using NEMA premium-efficiency motors on all units 1 horsepower (HP) or greater. This is increasingly important for motors that run for extended periods of time, since premium efficiency motors can save up to 3% in motor energy consumption.
Save on new 1-200 HP motor purchases or replacements for failed 1-200 HP motors. BGE even provides incentives for motors purchased up to 6 months in advance of installation.
